The Nano Chameleon (Brookesia nana) is the smallest chameleon in the world (only 22mm for male and 29mm for female), located in Madagascar. Its shrinkage is believed to be due to its shrinking habitat. Even though it is a chameleon, it cannot change colors. Not that much is known about it due to it only being discovered in 2012. Its habitat is the forest floor. With that being said, I think that the current habitat of the Nano Chameleon would not need to change, given that it doesn’t live in the trees. However, I think the new animal would need to adapt to survive without the shade of the trees, given that 1% of Madagascar is being deforested every year. Another thing we need to give it is the ability to change color, so predators can’t find it. It would also need claws for self defense and hunting.
