My animal is the Bridled Forest Gecko. The Bridled Forest Gecko lives in the western and eastern parts of the Amazon rainforest and they usually live in trees. The gecko’s habitat is very hot and wet, geckos use adaptations to help them survive in certain conditions. Examples of this are geckos storing fat in their tails, another is that they can camouflage into their environment to hide from predators. In order to survive a completely new environment, geckos will need new adaptations to help them survive the even hotter, now barren environment. Geckos may even have problems finding food, considering that there may not be many plants left in the rainforest. An adaptation that would help them survive is having faster speed, they live in trees so finding a new place to live would be complicated, so they’d have to run around a lot. Another adaptation is egg laying habits.
