The spotted day gecko is bright green which helps them blend in the tropical leave while they wait for prey. The spotted day geckos do not have claws but their toes have thin, broad, adhesive scales (called lamellae), which allows them to climb smooth surfaces. Geckos are the only lizard that can produces more than a hiss or other simple sounds. The new environment for the spotted day gecko is going to be cold like the arctic. So the spotted day geckos will need to be able to store enough fat in their body so that they don't get cold. They will also need to be able to dig so that the animals that already live in the arctic don't eat the spotted day gecko. Lastly the spotted day geckos will need to be able to swim just in case any of the land animals that can swim.
