My current animal is the ring tailed lemur. It’s most recognizable feature is its tail with 13 alternating black and white bands. It’s body is mostly grey and brown but they have white bellies. They eat leaves, flowers, and insects but they can eat fruit, herbs, and small vertebrates. They are prey to fossa, harrier hawks, and large boas. The new ring tailed lemur has adapted to the desert in many different ways. They are now nocturnal animals they sleep during the day and their long thick fur insulates them from the cold desert nights. Now they have long bat-like ears to help them hear approaching predators. They have slit-like nostrils and two rows of eyelashes to protect them from the sand. They also have thick fur on their feet to protect them from the sand.
