The Ocelot

Ocelots live in the rainforest. It eats a lot of things like mice or shrews. Ocelots are a member of the cat family. It likes to hang from fallen trees that are crooked or sleep in a high place that's not too dangerous. Their sharp claws allow them to do this. If there were fewer trees the ocelot wouldn’t have many trees to climb. Many ground predators would try to hunt the ocelot. It would need better defense like sharper claws, pointier teeth, and long legs. Longer claws would help defend itself against predators like wolves or coyotes. Pointier teeth would help kill prey instantly after a bite. It would also help the animals' protection. Longer legs would help the creature run faster so it can avoid fighting predators when it knows it cannot win. The shelter of this animal would be little trees or hollow caves.
