Orangutans are extremely important to the rainforest’s ecosystem. Contributing to the spread of seeds that grow into more jungle and creating space for animals to thrive makes them one of the most important animals in the rainforest. They mainly eat fruit and small rodents plus a variety of other foods. In about 1000 years or more, because of human greed the rainforest will probably be completely cut or burned down, replaced by cattle. The land is now inhabitable for the Orangutans, they have no choice but to adapt and try to thrive in this new environment. They would have to rely more on meat then fruits as they would all have been destroyed. The habitat they live in would mostly be desert after the destruction of the rainforest. To adapt to their new home, they would have to become more aggressive, faster, and have adaptations that help them hunt.
