Amazon river dolphin/ boto In 1000 years the world could be in shambles considering how much we depend on fossil fuel, cars, and how we will do anything to survive. But most importantly humans are destroying forests for agriculture. The Amazon river is very close to not having any water, since surface freshwater is being lost every year. For the Boto to live in this world in 1000 years they would have to adapt to eating more various foods like grass, bugs or other land animals. And since they breathe oxygen but must stay hydrated to live they would have to adapt to a dry climate. The boto may have to absorb water with either their mouth or skin to hydrate themselves whenever they need water. The last thing they should adapt to is living in other places with fresh water sources, like a glacier, wetland, or even underground.
