Chameleons are cold-blooded creatures, meaning they can not regulate their internal body temperature. Dark colors absorb heat and light colors, such as white, reflect heat. Climate change is increasing the average temperature immensely. Chameleons will eventually turn white in order to stay cool and not absorb as much heat. This "adaptation" can affect them negatively because this can cause them to not camouflage and blend in with their environment t as well.
