The Lachesis muta also known as the Bushmaster is a reddish-brown snake that lives in the rainforests of South America. It is a venomous pit viper and they can grow up to 12 ft. (3.65 meters) which makes it the largest of all vipers and the longest venomous snake in the western hemisphere. The average weight of this animal is 3 to 5 kg (6.6 to 11.0 lbs).
