Monarch butterflies are black and orange with white dots that are usually found across North America. Monarchs migrate up to 3 thousands miles at least every year. A monarch is one of the most recognizable and studied butterflies on the planet. Monarchs are very pretty and are one of the most remembered butterflies. They eat nectar and they only live up to 6 weeks. Although they are very pretty they are poisonous. The poison isn’t harmful to us like it is to smaller animals such as caterpillars. They usually weigh less than 1 gram 0.75 for large ones. Their are less than 2,000 monarchs left. In 100 years I believe they will be extinct because the forest may be all ruined and fallen down because of pollution. I hope we as people can take better care of earth and the forest to help save monarchs in the future.
