Since humans and global warming are causing rainforests to collapse Chimpanzees will need to evolve to suit their ever-changing habitat. Currently chimps eat mostly leaves, fruit, and insects but they have also been known to hunt monkeys and small antelope for meat. I think that their diet will need to change significantly if they are to survive the inevitable destruction of the rainforests. Since the rainforests will soon be replaced with swampy marshland I think that chimps will start to eat more small mammals and eventually fish as there will be significantly less vegetation. Chimpanzees currently look like hairy, more primitive humans. Once their habitat has changed I believe that chimps will evolve to have an elongated snout in order to catch fish. Since they will need to have more maneuverability in the water, chimps will evolve webbed feet and less hair to swim better in the water.
