The new habitat is a desert because in the rainforest, global warming dried out the river that the electric-eel lived in. Because it needed new features in the desert, it evolved. Features include specialized eyelids for protecting its eyes from sand, all of its electricity is directed towards its head making a more powerful electric shock, holed teeth for sucking water out of animals bellies after the shock, and it has specialized scales for digging and setting to get longer to store water, not shorter. The normal electric eel lives in the Amazon river and uses specialized organs to deliver a powerful shock to stun predators and prey, which it eats.
