The vertebrate animal from the rainforest that I chose was a jaguar. I believe that due to global warming, the sea level will rise tremendously and the rainforest will slowly change to become more watery. In the future, the jaguar will have waterproof and lighter wavy pattern fur so they can camouflage in the water to catch fish and other prey. They will also have otter-like tails to help them swim. They will have longer ears to help them hear better underwater. And they will also have filters over their eyes so they will be protected underwater. Their paws will have webbed toes for paddling and swimming. Lastly, the lungs will be able to fill more air so that they can hold their breath longer underwater. These changes will help them adapt to the new environment. And most importantly, they will be able to find food sources in the water.
