Hyacinth Macaws live in South and Central American rainforests. They have adapted to their environment by having bright colors to blend in with the bright flowers there. Their beaks are curved because they eat big seeds. Over time, the rainforests could turn to prairie, like in ecological succession, or desert, like how the Sahara used to be green. I think macaws might become migrators. They would be smaller, and more lightweight, so they could fly much farther. Their beaks also wouldn’t be that curved because they would have to start eating grass seeds. I think that their colors would evolve to muted, so they would not stand out as much. Becoming migrators would also mean living in a group, as most hyacinth macaws today only live in pairs. If they became migrators, they would most likely look very different.
