For my entry for what rain-forest animals would look like after adapting to their environment in the future I chose the jaguar. Currently the jaguar is a big cat with a yellow/tan coloration with black spots/rosettes. I believe that in the future after adapting to an environment with much less dense forests with less biodiversity, resembling temperate forests, they will be smaller with less prominent spots and a darker coloration. I believe they will be smaller because the different environments will have less places to hide, and will force jaguars to become smaller to make it easier to hide. I also believe that they will become a darker color, more brown and tan, and less prominent spots to blend in better with an environment with generally more brown color.
