The animal I chose happens to be a panda. The average panda that I am researching lives in a Rain Forest but averagely they live in temperate forests high in the mountains of southwest China most of the anyway. Their diet mostly consists of the leaves, stems and shoots of various bamboo species. Bamboo contains very little nutritional value so pandas must eat 12-38kg everyday to meet their energy needs.Because of the panda’s restricted and montane geographic range, climate change may significantly reduce and isolate already fragmented giant panda habitats, decrease gene flow, and thereby substantially increase the species of pandas extinction risk. And with the way people are already killing animals unnecessarily, in my thought process, pandas won’t be alive in a 1,000 years if that long because there are only 2060 left.
