The tapir is an animal that lives in the tropical rainforests of Central America, South America, and South-Eastern Asia. In these areas, deforestation has caused a noticeable loss of vegetation which affects the tapir population considering that they are all herbivores. For the tapir population to continue to prosper, they may evolve into omnivores, meaning they feed off plants and animals. To adapt to become a predator, their jawlines may become stronger to injure prey, their teeth may become more suited to pierce flesh, their body systems must change to process animal matter, their eyes might change position to create a more viable field of vision, and their body may adapt to become more limber and athletic to hunt prey.
