Macaws are a type of parrot that live in rainforests. Parrots create their nests in holes of trees, so without trees macaws will have nowhere to live. Let's assume in one thousand years that sea levels will rise and deforestation gradually gets worse. The tree population in the rainforests will get smaller and the ocean levels will rise. Parrots can't swim, but if there are no trees to live in, they will have to be able to adapt to swimming. I specifically chose the Amazon rainforest in South America because it connects with the Atlantic Ocean. On the left of my drawing, I have a macaw in their normal habitat in the trees. On the right, a macaw swimming in the nearby Atlantic ocean next to where the Amazon Rainforest was. The macaw is able to transfer from being incapable of swimming, to needing swimming skills to survive.
