The red panda currently lives peacefully in the high-altitude temperate and tropical forests. It eats tree leaves, shoots of bamboo, and insects. It is the size of a cat. In the future, the red panda has developed some of the characteristics of a flying squirrel- winged skin, gliding ability-to be able to get safely to the trees that are fewer of. The claws of the red panda have gotten longer and sharper. They eat what they can find. Still mostly bamboo, but they have started eating more insects since there are fewer trees. Their sharper claws help them also to dig into the ground for the bugs and to defend themselves against predators. Their colors change slightly to a duller color so they don’t stand out as much to help them blend in with the environment. This will protect them from predators too.
