Mountain Gorillas live in African rain forests. Gorillas have many adaptations to help them survive. One of them is that they have a broad chest, wide shoulders, short legs, and long strong arms. They will have black skin and hair. As adult males get older, the hair on their back becomes gray or silver. That is why they are called silver backs. Most of the time gorillas will only eat food that only herbivores will eat like plants. They rarely eat insects.Gorillas are very large apes, they can have the strength of chimpanzees, orangutans and even humans, gorillas are usually stronger. An adult male gorilla can weigh 225 kilograms and is about 1.8 meters tall.
