Now that there are no more trees (or very few) the chameleon must adapt to swim in the water. Now he is a carnivore, he is a carnivore because there is very few plants so he must eat other smaller animals for food. Currently, he is an omnivore. He has grown gills so he can breathe underwater and survive to get food. His colors have changed for camouflage underwater. The reason he is now dark blue and black is so he can camouflage with the water in the deep. Now the chameleon has a fin on top of his head for balance underwater and the chameleon still has two front legs for grabbing prey. As we can see, the chameleon changes a lot over time.
