The use of fossil fuels and deforestation are both heavily affecting the environment. Because of this, many species may evolve or possibly die out because of the extreme change in habitat and climate. Ocelots are carnivores and twice the size of house cats. Their population is decreasing due to deforestation and hunters. In a thousand years, tropical rain forests will be no more and wetlands in its place because of global warming. Ocelots’ fur color will change to a darker shade and its body size will decrease. This new environment may negatively impact ocelot’s prey and cause a decrease in population. This will not allow ocelots a plentiful diet. This may further decrease the population of ocelots. If this continues to happen, in a few hundred years, these animals will go extinct. The possibility of this animal surviving thousands of years is very slim due to the environmental changes.
