Some of the 3 toed pygmy sloth’s present adaptations for survival in the rainforest are, long limbs to help them climb, Have specialized tendons in there hand that lock into place allowing them to lock in place for a long time, Curved feet for grasping branches. They have long limbs for climbing because they mostly live in trees. They have specialized tendons in their back to hang on in one place for a long time, to eat for example. They have curved feet for grasping branches for when they are moving from tree to tree using canopy vines for better grip. In the future I think the sloths will not have these adaptations because there will not be as many trees leading to sloths not spending most of their life hanging on trees. The pygmy sloth will also have less fur because of the rising temperatures especially in the rainforests.
