Mice are cute in my opinion, however a majority of people don’t want them in their house. Warfarin is a poison commonly used to get rid of rodents, however, a few mice are growing immune to the poison. In a bakery in Germany mice were discovered to have no reaction to warfarin whatsoever. The mice in the kitchen had a large bit of DNA from the Algerian mouse, a separate though closely related species of mice. Algerian mice evolved to be able to help manage a vitamin K deficiency, the ability also made them immune to warfarin. The house mice and the Algerian mice met due to human travel, the mice bred and created a poison immune house mouse. This is a loss for anyone who dislikes mice, but definitely a win for the mice in that bakery.
