How will Toucans change?

I chose a Toucan. The reason I picked this animal is because they are gorgeous animals, but sadly endangered. People hunt them for their colored beaks. So how may they change over the years? My theory is that they will mask their beaks with mud and other materials. Once they cover up, they look just like a regular bird. They will try their best to cover the color, so they don't get caught. Even though not all of them die, people still capture them and cut their beaks off. No animals should go through that pain, just for people's benefit.
