The modern Green Iguana lives in the Amazon rainforest, on the ground. It is a herbivore that typically eats leaves and vines from trees. My prediction on how it will be affected by climate change is that most of its primary habitat will be flooded. This will require it to adapt to be more maneuverable in the water. This will be achieved through the development of webbed feet, to allow for a greater velocity in the water without affecting its land movement. The tail will shorten and widen to more closely resemble the tail of a fish. It will also gain gills, while retaining its lungs, allowing it to stay on both water and land for long periods of time. Its diet will change to aquatic plants and terrestrial plants.
