The Poison Dart frog is a vertebrate that lives in tropical rainforests. It has toxic skin that helps it to escape predators around the forest. Its skin is toxic because it eats poisonous bugs. The poison on its skin is the secretion of the toxicity in its food. It has sticky toes to nimbly jump to the luscious leaves of the tropical trees. Their tongues are very sticky so the bugs they eat won’t escape. In the future the rainforest will probably become a savannah with few trees, little water, and browning grass. The Poison Dart frog will not survive if its toxicity is secreted. The poison dart frog will adapt to never shed its tail and develop a stinger on the end of its tail. It's toes with a lot of traction and weight distribution to make sure it won’t sink in the sand. These adaptations will determine survival.
