The Kinkajou is a rainforest mammal. They are found in rainforests in Central and South America, Southern Tamaulipas state in Mexico and South to Southern Brazil. Kinkajous can turn their feet backwards to run in either direction along branches or up and down trunks, to help them survive from their predators who are mostly eagles. They will soon have no place to hide from predators because of deforestation. Slowly climate change and many other things are causing deforestation; which is why we're losing trees. One of Kinkajous adaptations that should slowly disappear is that they are born blind and open their eyes for the first time at 1-2 weeks old. Kinkajous eat fruits and nectar from flowers, which they get with their 5 inch tongues!
