Climate change is happenig all around us and affecting everything aroumd the globe. In the Atlantic coastal rainforest of southeastern Brazil, the maned three-toed sloth is one of six species of sloths. Sloths usually live in the trees and even have reinforced lumbar vertebrae that make upside-down lifestyle possible. They have an extremely slow metabolism that prevents them from moving very quickly. Due to climate change and the quickly rising sea levels, many coastal rainforests are becoming submerged in water. If climate change progresses at its current rate, these sloths willbe living in the water. Luckily, sloths are actually great swimmers.
