Many animals use their adaptations to survive, whether it be physical characteristics or behavior. The gorilla uses their opposable thumbs to help them gather plants or their robust arm muscles to climb trees, catch prey, and defend themselves. However, in contrast to their open and resource-filled habitat in the rainforest, wildfires are rapidly destroying forests; turning gorillas’ habitats from open and free to dead and devastated. Without their healthy environment, gorillas will not be able to catch prey or openly survive. In my picture, I drew a gorilla surrounded by its newly demolished habitat. When you observe my picture, on the before side, you see the gorilla happily enjoying its food source: bamboo. However, on the after side the bamboo is being burned in flames after a wildfire occurred. If climate change were to be fixed, the gorilla population would increase and the suffering of innocent animals would decrease.
