Today’s poison dart frog is a very vibrant species to blend in with the tropical hues of the rain forest. The bright oranges and blues blend in with the trees, rocks and brush that coats the rain forest floor. As deforestation and climate change escalates, trees will be cut down and plants will die out leading to poison dart frogs losing their habitat and what they camouflage with. In order to stay alive in their new environment, they will need to change colors to blend in. There once vibrant colors will change to a green/muddy color. Their new habitat will contain high grasses, meadows and plains. These changes will help poison dart frogs survive into the future after the negative impacts of climate change and deforestation.
