The first step to envisioning the future of a pygmy three-toed sloth is understanding the change in climate and how that affects the sloth. Deforestation, increased temperature, and complicated rain patterns impact the sloths the most. Sloths use trees a ton for survival so they would need to be on land. Sloths can surprisingly swim so they would hide near water in swamps or grassy watery areas as they are already slow enough to camouflage with algae. They will have way less fur due to the hotter climate but need enough to protect themselves from diseases. They will need sharper teeth to hunt for more species if they run low on leaves due to deforestation. They would need a slower metabolism due to a lack of resources but will need to be smaller so it is easier to hide on land.
