The spider monkeys have long, thin arms with hooklike hands that allow them to swing through the trees. Their black and white fur helps them regulate their body temperature in the rainforest. Deforestation is one of the main causes of climate change in the rainforest. The destruction of the rainforest will drastically change the temperature, making it much hotter and drier. This changing temperature will make the monkey's fur unnecessary. In order to better survive the hotter climate, it will shed all its fur making it cooler for it.
