Better eyes for praying mantis

My animal of choice is a praying mantis. Praying mantis have very bad eyesight and can’t hunt without light. My change would be to increase the size of the eyes. Larger eyes will help them see their prey from further away. When a praying mantis finds its prey it can only take 50 milliseconds to catch it in its long arms. Praying mantis will put their arms up and stand on their hind legs to make themself look bigger, scaring off prey like birds or small snakes. If big enough a praying mantis will become the predator of its predators eating small birds or snakes. With bigger eyes, it will be able to hunt more freely.
