Adaptations of: Sloths

Sloths have many adaptations and abilities that help them survive in the wild, like their perfect shaggy brown fur to help blend in, their 4 sharp canine-like teeth, and their long claws. Although these are great for them to survive currently in the world, the future holds things that sloths will have to change because of. Example, the amazon rainforest is decreasing rapidly, and thousandths of trees will be lost. Because a sloths main diet is supported by leaves, they’ll loose the main resource of their diet. If they loose this, they might have to expand their diet to eat more plants, and they may even have to come to becoming omnivores. Also with this, sloths will loose their main defence against predators—hiding. Sloths use their teeth and claws as defense against predators, so they’ll need better defense mechanisms in the future.
