My present creature is a chimpanzee. Chimpanzees are primates that humans are very closely related to. The Chimpanzees, like many other primates, have very long arms, which helps it climb trees to avoid predators. Chimpanzees are omnivores, and usually eat leaves, fruit and insects. They are very smart animals, and one of the few animals that use tools. To eat insects, chimpanzees use sticks to “fish” for termites. Climate change is going to significantly affect the rainforest. Firstly, Chimpanzee's diet will consist of significantly less plants, and they may resort to stealing and eating human crops. They may become more like other primates which live in dry savannas. Chimpanzees may develop a lighter coat. However, many of the Chimpanzee’s adaptations would be useful in a drier climate. The ability to use tools and sticks is helpful for eating insects. In the climate-change affected environment, there will be lots of insects.
