The rover can function on its own using AI, and it can also be remotely controlled from Earth using a radar dish on the rover. In case the rover was to flip over, it can use a hydraulic system and the moon's low gravity to correct itself. The rover also has a camera it can use to make decisions for itself when not being remotely controlled, the camera can also take pictures of the moon. To transport materials from one location to another, the rover uses an excavator-like bucket to scoop up material and the bucket also has grinders to grind down large moon rocks for easier transport.
