The South Pole Regolith Remover (SPRR) is 3.5 x 2 x 2 feet, and designed to the maximum size to allow the SPRR to transport enough regolith. Its 4 wheels are lighter weight than tracks, thus the SPRR requires less energy to operate. Having one small digger arm makes the SPRR more stable. There is a large storage compartment because the difficult terrain of the South Pole with craters and boulders makes taking more trips than necessary a risk to the SPRR. NASA’s special paint can be coated onto the SPRR to mitigate the build up of electrical charges. This paint can mitigate the build up of electrical charges; it will help keep the negatively-charged regolith from sticking to the SPRR. Regolith dust particles are sharp and angular, so the SPRR will enclose all electrical components and wiring with coverings that can not be penetrated by regolith dust.
