Lunabotics Design Description LRI is remotely controlled. It consists of 5 tires. 4 on the front/back and 1 in the middle. “Perseverance” wheels help the robot face obstacles that are 1ft high. It can go up slopes that are 37 degrees. Our robot needs to survive the different temperatures, so we use water to cool equipment and make rocket fuel. To prevent dust on it we attach a metal casing around LRI’s main body and wheels. Another way our robot can combat dust is having a metal bucket collecting the dust and putting it in a separate bucket. For speed we will install an engine within the robot with high quality fuel to keep it going for as long as possible. To collect lunar regolith, we can use an iron shovel. The power system we use is a battery. We will also have a backup one just in case.
