Luna is an autonomous robot whose route is planned by the engineers here on Earth using footage on the front of her. She is powered by solar panels and protects herself from dust with a magnetic coating, along with a retractable brush to wipe the dust off the solar panels. Luna keeps her balance by being low to the ground and having a wide base, slow pace, and triangular treads. The treads are made of a material similar to chain-link for better traction and as a replacement for rubber. Luna will withstand extreme temps by being primarily made of titanium. These metals also create a lighter weight and better bendability. Luna uses a drill to extract regolith and deposits the samples into a compartment within the rover.
