S.A.M. will be made out of a carbon fiber frame with smooth sides to reduce dust clinging to the rover. An aluminum blade will be attached to the frame that will bring the soil up into a tray beneath the rover. The inside of S.A.M. will be covered in insulating material to protect the electronics. This robots' power will come from recharging at a RPS power system located at the moon base. The wheels of the rover can turn into tracks or wheels allowing S.A.M. to be able to have more or less traction while also lowering it’s center of mass to maintain balance. There will be HOMES active dust repellent on the underside of the rover and blade. S.A.M. will also travel at a slow and steady pace while being mostly autonomously controlled, but it will still have the ability to be remote controlled.
