Zen the Robot

Zen the robot, a mechanical creation that is able to collect lunar soil successfully with the use of magnets. Lunar soil contains large amounts of iron which could cause the magnetic field that is produced by coils to be able to pick up lunar soil with limited mess. Lunar soil is an exceptionally sticky substance as described in this quote, “It is like a sticky powder made from shards of glass.” .Zen has built- in headphones to allow workers to calculate the process of collecting the soil and to be able to communicate and command zen. The robot has a fitted video camera to allow employees and workers to see the process in real time. He is activated with nickel-cadmium batteries( batteries that are able to be used in space). The substructure of zen has a three wheel maneuver to allow zen to transport from one location to another.
