The surface skimmer picks up regolith with a sharp metal blade that cuts into the ground, moves it in a bin that filters into an augur that moves it into a bigger bin. The rover has 3 wheels surrounded by a track. The middle wheel has an axel attached to the rover and spins because when that wheel spins all the wheels spin. The middle wheel can move down for more stability. The rover has a battery that charges at stations powered by solar panels. The rover body is made of reflective carbon fiber material. When the rover is traveling back and forth from the moon base and dig site, it moves at 10-20 mph and 100% autonomous. When the rover runs into a problem it can't solve it will send a signal to the moon base and someone can fix it. The rover is covered in NASA’s dust repellent.
