This is my robot, Journey. This robot is like some of NASA’s previous designs and has many important features that help it dig soil on the Moon. The robot moves on wheels similar to tanks. These wheels are surrounded by silicone and move easily on rugged terrain. The robot also has a camera for navigation. My design is sturdy and repels lunar dust with its stainless steel mesh. It has an air conditioner and heater to keep it at a reasonable temperature. Journey includes a scoop to pick up regolith and collects energy to operate using its solar panels. First, the robot picks up regolith using its scoop. Then it puts the regolith into a hole in the middle of the robot. After that, the regolith is transported through a tunnel and collected in a box. When this box is full Journey will deposit the soil at the Artemis base.
