The Robob lunar rover has tank treads that allow it to roll over rough terrain with ease. It has an arm that allows it to drill into the ground with five separate augers, and extract cores from the lunar soil. It can be controlled by an operator at a moon base nearby, and commands are transmitted through radio to an orbiting satellite, which beams it back down to the rover. Cameras will make it easy to control. It is powered by a high-capacity rechargeable battery. The battery is being constantly recharged by a solar panel array mounted on the top of the robot.
