PATHFINDER

Pathfinder is a remote controlled/coded rover with gear to climb the regolith. The mechanism of climbing is by using its weighted grappling hook to fall; once it is shot up, and pulling itself up. It lowers its dagger in the ground, retracts the grappling hook and restarts to reach a higher altitude to take samples, while stopped. The drill lowers, loosen up the sediment and retract. The claw lower, takes a sample and puts it in the cargo bin (every sample will be dropped in a specific spot). It can continue taking more samples until the cargo bin is filled, when it will push the grapple hook onto rock and propel itself down. The rover shell is made of a gold titanium alloy and uses solar panels to charge. If any dust is on the panels the infrared scanner will power up a vent fan to blow it off.
