Once the rover reaches its destination, the mechanical arm at the top uses its claw to pick up one of five canisters on its side, and places it on the moon’s surface. Then, the claw uses its two horizontal ridged wheels on the inside for the hollow canister to dig into the ground like a screw, and due to the lunar dust’s sticky properties it sticks to the canister as it is slowly removed from the ground and inserted back into the side of the rover as it repeats the process with the other canisters. This robot is meant to collect a bit of lunar dust over several trips. The top part has vertical ridges to rotate each canister. Once the rover drives back inside the ship, the drawbridge closes and it flies back to Earth. The handles atop each canister allow lunar dust to be carried around with ease.
