Being a combination of a spider and an octopus, this robot resembles a living creature in being capable of moving independently. The Ottospid has many functions like digging, cleaning itself, moving across any type of surface, and can sensor anything around them. Its claws climb out of craters and uses thermal infrared sensors, LED search lights, and motorized tractors to help its task of digging and transporting lunar soil. To dig, the robot uses its coils as a vacuum and as the tractor tires move, it's also shoveling as the coils are close enough to suck sand into its metal backpack. It'll carry a medium-large amount of sand. Surrounding the robot are metal alloys and bulky metallic glass so it doesn't get brittle in the extreme weather. To deal with lunar dust, layers of stainless steel mesh generates an electric field, propagating up through the outer layer of tufted fibers.
