The neck is a vacuum-like tube, flexible but stiffer, and there is an excavator bucket on the end. After it scoops it can twist around and dump the regolith into a bed on its back where it then falls into a deep compartment with a trap door on the bottom. It has great endurance, and the wheels are made from aluminum and covered with sturdy rubber. They are also set out a little from the sides and have bendable springs so that it does not easily fall over. It is powered by electric motors. The wheels are designed to be able to grip the ground so it can maneuver over rocky terrain. There is a solar panel on the back to charge the batteries for the Lunabot.
