Theia is designed specifically to dig up moon dirt and avoid drawbacks of farming lunar soil. This robot is in a spherical shape, connected by 4 different wheels. These wheels are almost parallel with the center console (which contains all internal components), and this allows for the craft to reposition itself by never falling over. This system is also adjusted by a peg system which changes its center of gravity. The scooping mechanism contains a drill and a sphere capsule, both of which have 360 degree range all around the console. The capsules will be put in storage containers in the console. Storage containers can be launched back to base. Lunar dust is combated by small EMPS around the craft on specific points. This will be solar powered by collecting energy from the sun, and powered by NiMH batteries as a resort. A pressurized cooling system uses the moon’s gas.
